Engineering Manager

EV Edison is seeking an Engineering Manager to manage the engineering activities of our EV charging and energy storage offerings and projects. The candidate will play an integral role in helping EV Edison provide best in class energy solutions. The candidate will work with multiple groups within EV Edison, including business development, finance and operations to help deliver project specific solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead design of EV charging and battery energy storage systems, including Sizing, connectivity, user experience and reliability of mobile and stationary EV charging equipment and installations.

  • Develop single-line and three-line diagrams with required electrical details for the battery system.

 

  • Attend meetings with clients, state and local permitting authorities, subcontractors, and vendors regarding engineering and technical issues.

  • Lead the project interconnection approval process with utilities.

  • Coordinate, obtain and integrate communication protocols between different system components and cloud infrastructure.

  • Understands AC Coupled and DC coupled EV charging and Battery Energy Storage systems.

  • Develop technical specifications and scope of work for engineering firms and contractors.

Who You are

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering preferred.

  • Experience with electrical design, DC collection, AC collection, MV and HV electrical design.

  • Experience designing EV charging, Energy Storage and PV systems.

  • Experience with power conversion equipment.

  • Experience with distribution substation engineering for utilities and renewable energy power plants.

  • Experience with electric utility substation, transmission and distribution systems

  • Experience engineering utility protection schemes and controls.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar modeling software.

  • Proficiency in PVSYST.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent project management skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to build relationships with supply chain and customers including senior leadership.

  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)

  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial organization.
